Robb really took the time to write a tight compelling mystery....the reading is good with all the voices done by the one reader and for the first time listenerwho is well acquainted with the "In Death" series this may take a while getting used to because everyone has in their mind how Dallas and Rorake should sound. I listened to a second "In Death" recording by the same reader and became comfortable wth the voices of all the characters so give it time. This a short story compared to the others so getting OK with the voices is a Plus for the reader....a very good BUY...... Yes I should name the reader who does such excellent work on all her readings of the "in Death" books, she is SUSAN ERICKSEN.

A nice "filler" between "in Death" novels. Interesting "fairy tale" premise, but true to the in Death characters. Eve and Roarke and the rest put their skills to use to rescue twins who have been kidnapped by an "evil witch".
Another wonderful book from JD Robb. Excellent story again following Roark and Dallas solve another grisly murder all the while improving their love and life together. Love this series of books and can't wait for the next one!
Interesting as ever
I love J. D. Robb's novels. This one is a good story, and shows a softer side of Dallas. But it is about half the length of her regular books.
This is a easy and exciting story about a evil woman who want to destroy her twin sister.
The twins and the evil witch link to the Ｈansel and Gretel is a excellent thinking!
The kids hug Eve part is such sweet and the Peabody`s brand of the story is funny!
Compare to other in death novella, this one is shorter, but the tempo is quick, so it is kind of relax reading.
Although the murderer is scary, but the crazy part is quiet cool!
All in all, this is a nice novella, and I am looking forward to the new book!
We listen to a lot of books on CD while we travel. This was a very good mystery. It's only 3 hours long so if you're looking for a short story this is perfect. The author keeps you in suspense the whole time and the ending is quite mysterious as well
J D Robb has an exceptional ability to write short versions of the usual full novels without making the story seem rushed.
Taken in Death is an excellent example of this where the reader is taken on a journey which is certain to have them reading with the same urgency as needed to resolve the case.
Knowing all the characters (including the killer) from the start, detracts nothing from the urgency of momentum, Indeed one is "glued" like a centrifugal force being exerted upon you.
